My Favourite Things

I was tagged, like every follower of Unexpected Surprises (yet aren't all surprises unexpected?), in the post in which the blogger takes photos of their favourite things in their house and shares it with everyone. It's a cheesy thing, but I thought it was also a nice thing, and I hereby tag Chloé at Science, Tea and Cats and Elizapaa at Off the Page to do the same. I'm interested to see if the favourite things at Chloé's are also my favourite things at Chloé's. It may take a while since Chloé has camera issues these days and Elizapaa hasn't post in over a month, but we shall see. Here you see my sort of not clean bedroom, the best room I know.

Paintbrushes, paint water cup, palette, and my lovely scarf.
Then, fabulous powder that softens your skin and smells nice and is very girl.

Moisturizer. This stuff saves my life post-shower.
All things lacy, with bows, ruffles and flowery patterns. Doesn't sound like me, right? Well, this is only true for my underwear, which has a drawer all to itself (not enough room for bras and underwear to share).
A
fabulous magnet that I think Chloé got me, actually.

My white board, cork board and random pouches. Very messy looking and very filled with great stuff, including two Dominican postcards from Katelyn, an old postcard from Iqualuit (then Frobisher Bay), a Body Works postcard-thing from Chloé and pictures of the greatest people in my life (like my siblings, my mom, and Katelyn...and the Joker).

The fridge.

And awesome things inside the fridge, like this life force of mine.

An incredibly warm and unique blanket Chloé made.

My cat Cheerio.

The Piano.

Jonas, as in Jonas Giesel Thompson, who is my gorgeous bass.

A JGT photo shoot (he needs a haircut).

Jason Collett~

Isn't it bizarre how the increase of volume when listening to music brings greater enjoyment? Whenever I listen to music the volume is all over the place. For songs I don't want to hear I make it background noise, for songs I feel like listening to I turn it up loud enough to bob my head to and for songs that make me crazy I blast it so I can sing really loud with it. It's so strange! Humans are a confusing species. It isn't as if the music is different, it's just louder. But somehow, some way, our brains register a pleasure boost. Crazy.

I was looking at Eunju's book that she's reading today and it is in Korean. It's fascinating. Not so much that it's in Korean, because that is really not very exciting, particularly when it is in the hands of a Korean person. It was interesting that I couldn't read it. I have always found reading to be one of the most intriguing abilities of humans. We have made a series of symbols so powerful that when grouped properly they can make us feel and think and change and argue. Then you see another series of symbols you aren't familiar with and while those symbols have the same significane to one person that other symbols have to you, you can do nothing but perceive the lines and strokes as exactly that. Reading jsut blows my mind. I think that's why I enjoy it, and intensely. I'd have to say the most emotionally intense book I've ever read was Phantom, by whom I can't recall (and I'm too lazy to check!), which was about the life of the man who became the Phantom of the Opera. It was really unique and powerful and painful. It actually made me cry, like, sadness crying, out loud. I'm glad I didn't read that part in public.

I'm not reading anything these days, which is a stinker. I want to get another grahpic novel from the library but in order to do that I have to go to the library and for the next month I probably won't have time to read anything anyway. That is due to the musical.

I don't think I mentioned my crazy musical schedule for May on here. It consists of rehearsing almost every day for long hours. I took a leave of absence from work because of it. The only days we don't rehearse are a few days before the shows so we can rest our voices and get pumped to perform and the performances themselves. Don't expect a whole lot of blogging, by the way. Sorry. I'll do my best.

I call you Wise People for a reason

OK, as promised, the next three followers of my blog get the One Lovely Blog award. The lucky recipients are:

Kate at I am The Worst Blogger You are not the worst blogger. In fact, you're quite lovely. Thanks for following!

Brittany at Unexpected Surprises (but really, aren't all surprises unexpected?) A lovely blog indeed! I love your tone and welcoming atmosphere. A solid member of my lizard blog team.

And my extremely lovely friend CJ (Clinton) Klotz! He doesn't have a blog, but he followed mine without me even directly telling him I had a blog, and that makes him awesome. Thanks darling. You get the One Lovely pre-Blog Award.

So enjoy, kiddies!

:D

I'd Like to Thank the Academy

Well, I have received the One Lovely Blog Award from David. Thanks! I guess this means I have one lovely blog on my hands. I am supposed to "do with it what I will", which I guess means he has chosen to disregard any rules that may have come with it and then proceeded to plant this same disregard in the hearts of this award's recipients.

Well, what I will do with it is kind of what he did with it except not.

The next three people to follow my blog will get this award because if you are showing my blog love, you must have a lovely blog!

Also, the first three people to comment on this post who already follow/don't want to follow (aww) my blog will get this award, because my blog is a lizard and it likes to be fed by comments. This is a way for you to get the award with no strings attached. Woo. Oh, and if you are one of the three who starts to follow my blog and you are one of the first three to comment you, unfortunately, will not get the award twice. Shucks!

That makes a total of six people getting the award from me, but I don't like the number six too much, so I'll go for lucky number seven and give the award to my sister Chloé who I love and recently wrote a really awesome blog that I commented on. Don't worry Chloé, I was going to give you the award anyway, but I had to point out that seven is better than six.

So get crack-a-lackin'!

BREAKING NEWS

DEAR GHOSTS,
I have CHANGED my URL in order for it to coincide better with the title and email of my blog, to create a sense of unity. The other URL was all I could think of at the time that wasn't taken. My URL is NO LONGER:
http://www.planetindigo.blogspot.com/
It has been CHANGED to:
http://www.e-i-g-h-t-days-a-week.blogspot.com/
Sorry if this screws anything up, and I hope that nobody has any trouble getting here, but if you have, please refer to my facebook profile, where my NEW URL is listed beneath my picture. The DIRECT LINK is in my INFO under WEBSITE. I hope that this URL makes sense in your minds as well, but if there are any objections, please feel free to comment or, if your comment is particularly long, which I doubt, email me at the address seen above my posts, that nice handy place you can't miss.
Also, if you follow my blog, you MUST change the link you have for my blog in your listings, or unfollow and refollow in order to be following, otherwise you are following a blog that does not exist!
I also hope the use of capital letters in excess hasn't made you think I'm yelling, I just want to be clear and highlight main points.
Thanks for following, or if you aren't following yet, thanks for choosing to follow right now because you love what you see!
Thanks,
Callie
